Issac Gertman is a Professor at Maryland Institute College of Art, and the principal of the Independent Group.
He has experience in the strategic planning, design, and production of editorial and brand identity systems, websites, publications, printed ephemera, motion graphics, wayfinding systems, and exhibitions. In addition to his professional activities, he is Design Fellow at the Wassaic Project, an artist residency in upstate New York. He teaches advanced course in Graphic Design and Typography. He previously taught at Parsons, the New School for Design; City College of New York, in the Department of Landscape Architecture; and at Rhode Island School of Design.
